Dried Flower Home Decor

New Year Decor Refresh

Although January can be a pretty dull month, I love how it brings the opportunity to refresh your home.

Once the Christmas decs are down, the house always feels bare, so why not add some fresh décor to give your home a renewed lease of life?

It really doesn’t take a lot of money to add some new touches of décor which will make your home feel more inviting.  A new dried flower arrangement can add a welcoming touch to a console table or kitchen island, and the great thing about dried flower is they can last for years if looked after, and when I mean looked after it’s pretty minimal.

Just follow these four simple tips:

No water - They are dried and they like to stay that way. Do not water them or put them in damp conditions, they will go mouldy. Ensure there is good airflow, however they won’t last long next to a drafty window.

Avoid direct sunlight - Dried flowers will naturally fade over time, particularly if they are kept in direct sunlight. To slow the fade, keep them away from direct sunlight.

Be gentle – Dried flowers are fragile, and become more fragile as time goes on. They are best situated in a spot with little movement to avoid breakages.

Dusting – As the flowers can stay in the same position for a long time, it can make them prone to collecting dust. To gently remove any dust, we recommend giving your arrangement a gentle blow with a hairdryer on the lowest, coolest setting.

My beautiful collection of dried flower home décor pieces are all made to order, in my Cornish studio.  You love what you see, but the colour doesn’t quite match your décor? No problem, just message me and hopefully I will have your preferred colour palette in stock, so I can create the perfect botanical home accessory for you.
